Baked Caramel Apples

4 large apples
1 tbsp. butter or margarine
1 tbsp. flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup boiling water
1 ½ cups miniature marshmallows
1 tsp. vanilla
Peel, core and cut apples into fourths; place in 2 quart baking dish. Melt
butter in medium saucepan; blend in flour. Add sugar and water, stirring over
low heat until dissolved. Add marshmallows and vanilla and continue stirring
until melted. Bring sauce to boil; pour over apples. Bake at 350º for 25 to 30
minutes, basting with sauce occasionally. Serve warm or cold.
