MOCK FISH
by Megan
4 potatoes
2 onions
1 egg
1 tablespoon flour
Pinch salt
Pepper to taste
1. Peel potatoes and grate
2. Grate the onions
3. Mix the potatoes & onions together, add the egg and the flour and mix well
4. Add salt & pepper and mix through
5. Take a tablespoon of the mixture and shape into a small pattie
6. Shallow fry the patties until they are dark golden brown (they are best if
the edges are slightly burnt)
7. Drain on paper towels
These are great eaten with ketchup. To increase the mixture, increase the
proportions of potato and onion.
When we had this, my family used to bring the electric frypan to the table and
we'd cook the patties as we went so that they were piping hot.
The best bits are the bits that break off and are really crunchy. Fairness says
the person who grated the onions gets these.
