Fish & Chips

Friday night is fish fry in our area. My husband and I make this once
and awhile if we find ourselves both at home together and have fresh fish
on hand. 

Ingredients

Fresh fish (cod, haddock, perch, pike or bass) as much as you like.)
3 ggs beaten
Cracker crumbs (we use saltines)
1-2cups milk (we use 2%)
5-6 red potatoes (washed unpeeled & very thinly sliced)
vegetable oil (enough to cover most of the fish)

Directions

Prepare fish for frying by rolling fish in milk, then in egg and then
crumbs then back in milk(can omit the last dip in milk)In an electric
fry pan, heat oil to 350 degrees (regular fry pan can be used).
Fry fish in batches until golden brown turning once. Drain on paper towels.

While fish is frying, use a deep fryer and deep fry the new potatoes until
lightly golden brown, drain on paper towels.
Season with onion salt.
Serve with tartar sauce, lemon slice, a side salad and rye bread.

Note: you may cut the fish into bite size if you prefer.
