Quick, easy and fragrant for the holidays,
these oranges are studded with whole cloves to add scent to any festive table
setting.
You can also use lemons or limes, and use any type of pattern from swirls to
stars.
You will need whole cloves, lots, and fruit to work with.
You can stencil or trace a design onto the fruit, or poke small holes in a
design with a toothpick,
and then place the cloves stem side down into the fruit.
The easiest patterns are geometric-stripes or triangles work well together.
The fruit will last without discoloration or dehydration for about a week to 10
days.
Then, you can remove the orange peel (with the cloves) and place in a potpourri
bowl,
boil in an open pot of water on the stove,
or heat in an electric potpourri pot of water to scent your home for the
holidays.
