Leader's Letter

Happy fall to y'all north of the equator!! We're going into my favorite season; time to pull out the sweaters, jeans, and jackets, enjoy the mellow blue skies and the crisper air. To me, there's nothing more renewing than seeing the fruits of your summer labors ready to harvest and be thankful for later!!
I think our "harvest" is barely beginning in WOSIB. For the past 2 months, Idgie and I have been working diligently to not only learn the ropes of running WOSIB, but also to take the reins and actually start being the leaders that we are trusted to be. We've implemented the new Senior Staff, started working in tandem with Garden Heads and others, and finally feel we know what our purpose is.
We realize that changes are not always welcome, nor anticipated, but for the most part, I believe the few changes we have made have been positively received. The biggest change is the Senior Staff, of course. And now that they have had a month or so of working on the specialized areas, I can see a big difference in how fast things are being done. Without them, Idgie and I would still be scratching our heads saying "duh....huh???" And while they learned, WE learned. While we both knew WOSIB was a well run machine before, we now see and understand exactly WHAT it takes to keep the machine greased...its TEAM WORK. Each and every one of our Senior Staff members have a specific duty, and those duties all coincide with another staffer's duties. So they must not only be able to work work well together, but be willing to share info and provide it in a timely manner. I'm so very proud of our Senior Staff. They have difficult tasks to fulfill yet they get it done and still have time for their other garden duties!! So I propose we have a Senior Staffer of the Month, every month!! But Idgie and I need your help; we simply can't choose one each month. Can we ask you to let us know when one of them has done something so helpful for you that you think she deserves recognition?? After all, everything they do, they do for YOU! Anytime you have someone you want to nominate, just email Idgie or I at coleaders@wosib.org. Tell us how that staff member helped you and we will use that to determine each month's SOTM (Staffer of the Month). AND, while we're at it, we'd like to do the same for our Garden staff. Nominate your Garden Head/Assistant Head/Garden Assistant by emailing the same address. Our Garden Staff works just as hard at making your garden membership enjoyable, fruitful, and fun. And that is no easy task....
Please remember, our staff is still evolving, changing, and becoming more knowledgable in how to keep WOSIB fully charged. We hope to not have to make any further changes for awhile, but if we do, please keep in mind that its all for YOU!. Just like a good recipe, sometimes you have to add a little more here, take a pinch out there, to make the blend your own.
To look forward to: We'll be announcing a new Garden soon, one of fun, events, and enjoyment for all!!! Plus we have 3 other gardens in the works, which will be announced as they are ready. I think you all are going to enjoy what we have in store for you!!!
Remember, my "door" is always open, and if you have any concerns, issue, or ideas, I'm always here for you.
Hugs,
Jeri

Dear WOSIB Sisters & Friends!
I can hardly believe that a month has already passed since I wrote my very first Co-Leader article! So much has happened during this short transition period, and there is so much left to be accomplished. Once the cooler weather arrives here in Washington, my computer time will increase considerably!
Jeri has captured the "mechanics" of this past month so well that my article will be short & sweet this time around. I am still working on the Helping Hands Link Pages. I hope to have them ready to link up to WOSIB within a week or so. Sister To Sister - Friend to Friend is coming along, but still needs some thought and discussion. I am hoping to have this completed and ready for debut by October 1st. In the meantime, I am working on another Future WOSIB Garden, but am going to be rather hush hush about it until I have dotted all of my "I's" and crossed all of my "T's" ! Smiles... I will tease and say, if all works as planned, this Garden will be a new concept for WOSIB, and hopefully benefit the membership in a BIG WAY! I'll admit, I am viewing it with Rose Colored Glasses right now, and there is much to be done in order for it to become a reality, but I absolutely believe in the idea, believe it can and will work, and am determined to make it happen - With LOTS of Help From Jeri! LOL! I will do my best to at least get the concept set up soon, and hopefully, the pages will speak for themselves.
I am so very proud of our awesome staff, the veterans and the newbies! I really see everyone coming together for the betterment of WOSIB, and it is such a good feeling to know you are beside Jeri and I on this journey! Without all of you we would be splashing around in the puddles.
Wherever you are in this Beautiful World we share, I hope that life is treating you kindly...that you take at least a few minutes out of each Precious Day to Pamper Yourself, no matter the method. You Are All Special, and Deserve to Feel That Way! Always Remember - Every Girl is a Princess!
Love & Hugs From Idgie
