Once again its the first of the month - our trees are finally turning color and Halloween isn't far off. The Midwest has been experiencing a bit of Indian Summer as I write this, but cooler nights have been a very welcome change!
As you all know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month - I don't need to remind you how important it is to us women. Please take some time to schedule a mammogram (especially if you're 40+) and follow through with it. We need to have you with us!!
I find fall my time to look back on the year, tidy up whats not been finished, and prepare for the winter months ahead. I also reflect on what I have done and what I could have done different. I just celebrated my 2 year anniversary here at WOSIB (and my first year as leader!) and I can honestly say, there isn't much I'd do different! But I also want to ensure that each and every one of our members are happy, enjoying their time with us, and if there is anything that we need to work on. I hope you all will feel free to contact either myself Jeri or Akaysha with any concerns or ideas you may have!!
Happy fall (to us in the north half of the world) or Happy spring (to those in the southern half)!!!
Hugs,
Jeri

Another beautiful fall day as I sit and write... and absolutely enjoy every second of it! I truly do think this is my favourite time of the year. The leaves are a riot of reds and oranges and yellows, and for that matter.. the yellow ones on the ground are there for the jumping LOL. There's a tang to the air.. and the smell of wood smoke as the city folk here get the fireplaces going in the evenings. Pumpkins and spice and crispy apples and the nip of frost in the air.
Its also time for Thanksgiving here in Canada, so would just like to give thanks for all of you, and the opportunity to meet new sisters and cherish old friends. I learned to type on a manual typewriter, because there WERE no electric ones, and I have to say that every now and then I do stop to pause and marvel anew at the technology that allows us all to be as close as an email away from each other and to share our heartaches, triumphs and giggles with sisters half a world away at the touch of a button.
From Canada, hugs (with a rake in one hand and a turkey sandwich in the other..)
