Quilters

Hello From The Quilting Bee

Fall has finally arrived in the south and we are so pleased to have this cooler weather after a summer of sizzling temperatures and very little rain.

The Quilters Garden had a fun time this past month with Orca leading the group in a fun game of Scavenger Hunting. We then all made our quilts and presented them to the group. What a challenge this was finding 21 different items to make into squares. We have another game in progress now and it will also be a fun one. Orca manages to keep the ladies quite busy and we are so fortunate to have our Head Assistant so talented with Activities.

We do a Monthly Anniversary and Birthday quilt for the Celebration Garden. Those quilts can be seen here. http://www.wosib.org/quilts/completed.html. In 2007 we will be replacing our holiday quilts. So keep an eye out for those. We also have a chat list were we share ideas, opinions, quilt squares, gifts but most of all we share our friendship.

We had three new members join the Quilters Garden this month. Below are their names and quilt links:

Linda - http://www.creativedezinez.com and

Welcome to the Quilters Garden ladies.

There is one lady in our group who has been with the Quilters Garden longer than any other member and we would like to feature her this month. Her name is Barbiel. We ask Barbiel a few questions and below are her answers:

Tell us a little about yourself.
1. Where are you from: Germany

2. Do you work outside the home and if so, what do you do?
Sometimes since I am Photographer for our school and church.

3. Do you have any children/grandchildren and/or pets?
What are their first names and ages? I have 2 children, a boy, Luciano, 16 and a girl, Luiza, 12 and two cats, he, Pingo and she Pongo, both 8 years old

4. What do you do away from the computer?
I watch TV, enjoy drawing, reading and photographing

5. When did you first join Quilting Bee?
Not sure, think since WOSIB founded the group (Oct.1, 2002)

6. If you had a chance to be the Head Quilter for the day, what would you do?
I don't want to be a Head Quilter.

7. Is there anything you would like to see added or changed in the Quilting Bee?
No, I think the group is very good, so like it is now ;o))

We want to thank Barbiel for taking the time to answer our questions and we appreciate her being such a faithful long-time member of the Quilters Garden. Visit Barbiel's Quilt Site at: http://quiltworld.freeservers.com/
