Leaders Letter

Dear Friends,

Oh how I love October!!! The nights are cooler, the air is crisper, and the colors really rival spring! I feel much more energetic in this cooler weather.

As you all know, October is "Breast Cancer Awareness" month. As women, we tend to do it all, with as little help as possible, and at times, forget that we must slow down and look after ourselves. Getting regular mamograms is so very important!! I'd like to urge all to please, especially if you're over 40, to take a few minutes to schedule a mammogram. You'll feel better knowing you've done your part in taking better care of yourself.

Our main pages to WOSIB are being translated into other languages and I will be uploading them as soon as I can. I think this will give our group a more balanced membership, and we could possibly gain even more International members!!! Thanks so much to the Translations Group for making this possible!!!

New gardens are still in the works, however the events garden will not be open by the end of the month, as originally planned. But I have been assured it will be operating in plenty of time for Christimas/Yule season!! Causes Garden and a couple of others are slowly coming along.

You know, the past 3 months have flown by and I cannot believe how smoothly things are going! But its not due to Idgie and I...its due to the wonderful ladies in the Senior/Junior Staff, and our garden staff as well. Without these dedicated and hard working ladies, our management would be a mess. I believe we all owe them our thanks! I know Idgie and I appreciate each and every one of them.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and fruitful October!!!

Hugs,
Jeri

Dearest Ladies!

Someone please pinch me and tell me where September went! Smiles! Last month flew by so quickly, I scarcely remember it.

So here we are in October already, and I would like to wish all of you a Happy Fall, or in the case of our Aussie Sisters, a Happy Spring. There is so much to be accomplished in either season.

Well, I still don't have the New Link Pages or Sister To Sister, Friend To Friend Data Base quite ready and I apologize for that. I ran into a password issue that I didn't know how to deal with so Jeri has kindly agreed to rescue me. Now, I just need to finish up the numerous pages and get them sent to her, which I hope to accomplish by the end of next week. (Keeping Fingers Crossed...) My progress has been slowed a bit by my silly "frozen shoulder", but I have started Physical Therapy twice a week, so should be good as new in no time!

I am excited by the list of new members each week. I hope that WOSIB continues to grow, and that we all remember to respect and appreciate the diversity of our membership. While we may have a wide range of beliefs, opinions, and lifestyles, we are united as women and share so many of the same issues in life: ie; Family, Health, Joys & Sorrows. May we continue to support and uplift one another in the True Spirit of Women of Strength and Inner Beauty.

Love & Hugs from Idgie
