MEMBER OF THE MONTH

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE GARDEN MEMBER OF THE MONTH!!

Staff Member of the Month
Our SMOTM is one who has her garden completely to heart. She believes strongly in what her garden does, and recently took over as Head, working hard to learn the ropes, and keeping her garden alive and well. She's a busy lady; she works outside the home, has her family (which most are the 4 legged variety...LOL), and is a member of the WOSIB Organization Staff as well. She's fun, energetic, supportive, and loving, which makes her a joy to work with. And we are very grateful to her for taking over as head for this popular garden. Our March SMOTM is Sweetness of the Critters Garden!!! Thanks so much, dear Sweetness, for all you do, both for Critters and the Annouce List Management. We'd be lost without you!!!!

Until next month, love and hugs!

LITERARY
Maiden Fair
http://www.thefairkingdom.com/
maidenfaire@thefairkingdom.com

MaidenFair has been a phenomenal asset and addition not only to Literary Staff, but to the Literary Garden in general. This month, she had some personal issues with the health concerns of a family member but she still managed to soldier on and keep the Continuing Story “continuing” and flowing in full form! A outstandingly talented writer and loving gentle soul, Maiden Fair is well-deserving of this month’s honour.

1. What is your favorite Literary Garden Nook and why? I guess I would have to say right now my favorite garden is the Fiction garden. I love writing short stories and this garden gives me a lot of scope to work with. There’s always something new to challenge me to try something different.

2. What do you like best about being a member of the Garden? I love everything about the garden, but especially the support and the encouragement of everyone. I feel that I can try something new a different and even if I don’t do as well as I thought, no one is going to ridicule. It’s a wonderful feeling knowing I can step off the cliff and not fear the landing.

3. Do you believe "the pen is mightier than the sword?" Oh Yes!! Why? Because words live long after the warrior dies. Words speak through the ages and bring us wisdom that the sword never did. We still have the words of Moses, Plato and Confucius to draw from, but we don’t have the sword of Alexander or Caesar to lean on any longer

4. If you had the chance to speak on international television and your speech had to be about you, what would you tell the world? I’m a country girl – born and raised in the foothills of Pennsylvania. I’ve lived in big cities and small towns, but you truly can never take the country out of a country girl and I’m glad to be back living in the country – surrounded by corn fields and rolling hills. I still enjoy simple things and prefer a walk in the park to a tour of the Louvre, a hike up Clingman’s Dome to a fancy dress ball. I’ve tried to be things that I’m not and discovered to my deep regret that while you can hide behind a façade, you can’t be happy doing it. In order to be what you were meant to be – you have to come out of hiding.

5. Do you have any pets? Not unless you count the Hubby, two kids and 5 grandkids!! LOL – although I’m seriously thinking about getting me a kitty – whether Hubby likes it or not.

6. When life gets you down, who can make you laugh? The granddaughters. They are 5 and 6 and can never fail to make me laugh. Just by just being themselves they are a delight to behold.

7. Do you collect anything? Yes. If so, care to share? I collect books, salt and pepper shakers, thimbles, and friends.

8. Can you tell us one thing about yourself that we might find surprising? I don’t like being around a lot of people – I tend to get panic attacks if I get alone in a crowd. I prefer to walk in the woods than go shopping in the mall.

9. What is your favorite thing to do on a rainy day? I love to curl up in my “Magic” rocking chair with a pot of tea, a quilt, and a book and read the day away. If I happen to have a little girl with me we make it hot chocolate and a Herdman (Barbara Robinson) book and we read together.

10. Who or what inspires you to write? I can’t say that anyone inspired me to write – more like discouraged me for the most part. Writing is something I can’t control – it’s like a flower that simply has to bloom. When an idea comes into my mind I can’t help but write
