Literary
In the beginning
Seeds were sown
And three years later
See how much we've grown
Five little Corners
Were planted with care
Now nine glorious Nooks
With you we share
No matter what
Your reading pleasure
You'll find it here
In our written treasure---
The Literary Garden
The Literary Garden is pleased and proud to reopen in 2006 with a brand new look!! The new layout was designed by our Assistant Head, Delana, to provide easier navigation for our readers.
The Poetry Nook offers 18 poems written about the topic "Holiday Memories". The voting was completed the beginning of December and the winners are posted on the site.
The Fiction Nook offers 6 short stories all beginning with the same first line: They returned too late. The voting was completed the beginning of December and the winners are posted on the site.
The Non-Fiction Nook offered our members a chance to write about a family dinner catastophes, humorous or not. Please stop by and read, "The Turkey That Got Away"
The Challenge Nook had a very unique writing challenge for our members for the month of November. I challenged them to write a 500 word maximum poem or story using all six of the following cliches:
1. long in the tooth
2. a dagger in the heart
3. stink to high heaven
4. every dog has his day
5. ah, to be young and foolish
6. open up a can of worms
Six of our members were up for the challenge. You won't want to miss reading these submissions!!
While you're visiting, you'll want to check out the Whimsical Nook, for some lighthearted and often funny writings, as well as the three Expressions pieces that were submitted in November.
Before closing, I would like to announce that with the growth of the Literary Garden, we have added three new staff members. THANK YOU and CONGRATULATIONS to Carol, Broken Angel, and Christina, who have all joined the Literary Staff Team!!
Until Next Month
Happy Reading
