Hi Ladies and welcome to 2007

I hope you all have a very Happy Holiday, and we wish a Happy, Healthy 2007 to us all. We started out kind of slow in Recipes recouperating from the Christmas and New Year Party's. Talk about New Year we at the Recipe Garden have decided to have as our theme for the month of January Super Bowl Party Foods and Soups. We have had a lot of wonderful recipes submitted by our Girls and they all sound so great thank you Girls nice job. We have started a Valentine Quilt for the recipe garden and its going to be fantastic.

We have a new Assistant in the recipe garden and I would like to welcome her and introduce her to everyone her name is Katie and were so happy to have her so welcome Katie from all of us in the Recipe Garden. Our winning recipe for the Month of January was Steak and Potato Soup sent in by Stephanie here is our winning recipe.

1 lbs boneless beef round steak
1 lbs small red potatoes, cut into 1/4" slices or 4 cups cubed potatoes
2 medium stalks celery, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 tbsp beef bouillon granules
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
4-14 1/2 oz cans beef broth
1 jar sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup all purpose flour

Trim excess fat from beef and then cut into 1x4" peices. Mix remaining ingredients except water and flour into a crockpot. Cover and cook on low heat setting for 8-9 hours until meat and veggies are tender. Mix flour and water. Gradually stir flour mixture into soup until well blended. Cover and cook on high 30 minutes or until slightly thickened. As always we would love for you to join our Recipe Garden attached is our link.
