Hello Sisters,
And all of you other folks too bored to find something better to do than read old Miss Misery! This is my first column for the newsletter and I’ve sure enjoyed departing my wisdom to you with your problems.
What qualifies me to give advice? Well, I have over half a century of life here on this Earth. I’ve seen the highs and I’ve seen the lows and I saw it all through the wrong prescription eyeglasses. It made for an interesting if not warped view of life. So with those qualifications, I’ll depart to you my never ending wit and wisdom. Gm Ms Misery:
My son, (27 years of age) is married to a very fiery redhead gal of 23 years of age. She is immature and very controlling. My son works night shift at the Penitentiary (9-6 in the morning), and then she works from 9-6 at night. They have a 3 yr old daughter. The problem is since they have gotten married the wife, Carol, has slowly but surely divided this family. For all holidays it's her family first. On Christmas day they didn't even make it over. Thanksgiving it was about 20 minutes. They are now in counseling, after my son demanded that they do to work on their problems. I've told my daughter in law more than a few times that she is always welcome in my home. With all family I have an open door policy; come and go as you please. She is always wanting me to compliment her, tell her that she is a good wife and mother, that she has lost weight and looks nice etc... Now several weeks ago, we had a huge blow out and she's saying she's never felt comfortable in my house, etc… I've gone beyond making her comfortable, I don't know what else to do. I rarely see my son anymore and when he does come, it's because he's sneaking around to do it. I love them dearly, but I can't keep on like this. What should I do?

My son is 6 years old and is still using the bathroom in his pants. While he is at school he does great, but when he’s home he goes through about 5 pairs of pants a day. How can I get him to stop this? He is too old for this now. I have tried everything I know and I’m going bald.

Well, hello there Miss Misery: I have this problem with our kitten, who just turned 6 months old. See she has determined we are her staff and she runs the household. This includes surprisingly enough a fetish for water, which in turn makes washing dishes a nightmare with her um, "help." Since we trained all our other pets to stay off counters with a few firm No's and the handy spray bottle, she's got us wrapped around her paw! Any suggestions??
