Cause of The Month
By Linda J

I really was at a loss at to what to do the article about for this month but it became clear to me as I read through some emails coming in through Little Sisters Chat Group
It became evident that there are a number of ladies (probably more than we realise) struggling to come to terms with the death of a child or even children.
Some time ago I came across an organization based in the United States (but with connections in Sydney Australia) called:
"THE MISS FOUNDATION"
About MISS
More than 120,000 children die every year in the United States. Of those, more than 80% die before their first birthday...
The MISS Foundation is a non-profit corporation committed to helping families discover hope and eventually heal from the trauma of a child's death.
There are groups formed to help parents, siblings and families in general with immediate trauma, saying goodbye and memorials etc.

There are so many services and options available to grieving parents, grandparents etc. and a special section set aside for grieving Fathers who not only have to deal with their own grief in their own way but often struggle to support their partner.
I commend this organisation to you and invite you to please visit their web site and see all they have to offer.
This may not be for you but someone you know and love may need the support so tuck away in a safe place the address details and should the situation arise gently and kindly share this with your friend.
As a Mother I can imagine no more tortuous grief than that of losing a child and there are so many of our group who have experienced this and it is wonderful to know that there is somewhere to go to talk where people understand.
With tender thoughts,
