Quilters Garden
August in Texas, where I live, means the beginning of another school year. All the Moms are out shopping for school supplies and school clothes for their children. For some Moms it will be a new experience as they send their children off for their first year of school and it really is tough sometimes to let go, but the children always love it. It reminds me of my days when I worked at a school district and registered the school children. It was a busy day, but a wonderful day to see all those sweet faces of the children as they began their journey of learning. So, as the children enter school for the first time or perhaps as a Senior in their high school or as they go off to college, we in the Quilters Garden wish all students a happy and successful 2007-2008 school year and say a big thank you to all those wonderful men and women teaching the students.
We are finishing up on our PAS-A-Square game in the Quilters Garden. We are trying to let everyone have their turn at getting to start the square. We are all having fun. I promise it will be finished this month and then Orca has some new games in store for our members. So watch for them ladies. I know you will have fun with all the things she has planned. In the meantime, we have been working on our personal quilts and having fun doing so. Come on over and join us at the Quilters Garden. We always have room for more members. Welcome to the Quilters Garden Salala. We are pleased to have you.
We have had some ladies on vacation and they have returned and we are glad to have them back. Our Head Assistant,Orca, will be taking a short LOA this month to visit her sister. We hope she enjoys her trip. She will be back with us mid-month.
We are still in the process of replacing our holiday quilts and, as always, we do our anniversary and birthday quilts each month. Our ladies come up with beautiful squares. These may be viewed at http://www.wosib.org/quilts/completed.html
Thanks to all the ladies in the Quilters Garden. We have almost 100% participation in making our quilts. On behalf of the staff and members of the Quilters Garden, we wish you a great month.
