Greetings ladies! I trust you all have a safe and wonderful Easter – not too many chocolates, I hope! Unless of course you have some for me! *g*
Well I hope you all enjoy the selection we have in store for you this month. We invite you to stop by and have a read of the wonderful stories, poetry, challenges and not to mention the Continuing Story, all of which are a fantastic display of our ladies’ talent!
The ladies enjoyed a picture challenge this month as part of our Fun Challenges we try to throw out to keep our creative juices flowing, with two separate pictures as prompts. These were a lot of fun, and you can read them on the Literary website at http://www.wosib.org/literary/ under Fun Challenges (March).
We also had a very special event to celebrate – 21st March marked International Poetry Day, and to honour this occasion, some of the ladies put their pens to paper (or fingers to keyboard) and composed some wonderful poems in the form of Odes in tribute to both women and words. So please, stop on by our website where you will find them under "International Poetry Day" on the menu.
And if you enjoy writing, why don’t you come and join us?! There’s plenty for you to do here, even if you don’t think you are a writer. Please feel free to stop by the Literary pages and take a look. We’d love to have you!
Please don’t forget to stop by and read about our Spotlight Author of the Month…..just who could she be this month….*s*

The Fiction theme for March was “You have been invited to a dinner party. There are eight guests - four male, four female. Describe the event, how the evening pans out and how you all fit together"
Congratulation to all our March winners! A special thank you to all who took the time to read the stories and send in your votes.

Poetry Nook

This month our members were to write a poem about anything to do with chocolate - Easter eggs, the comfort of chocolate or just chocolate in general
Congratulations to all our winners. We had such a response to these poems that we ended up with a two-way for First, for Second, and a three-way tie for Third! With at least three also tying for Honourable Mention I decided that ALL the ladies deserved an Honourable Mention for the efforts. A special thank you to all who took the time to read the poems and cast your votes.

Challenge Nook

The ladies in Literary have done an excellent job with the Challenge for this month when they were asked to write a letter to an elderly Aunt and Uncle about an exciting event in the family. Thankyou ladies for your interest and support and my congratulations on your efforts - I could almost live the situations you wrote about.
Thank you for sharing your talents with the Challenge Nook.
Love and hugs,
Linda
Continuing Story
Reported by MaidenFair
This month the Continuing Story ladies wrote a story of love and family; a story for Easter and for all the days of the year. Please stop over to the Continuing Story Nook and take the time to read “A Rose Garden”.

Welcome to April 2007 and, the Non-Fiction Nook within the Literary Garden! Comfort & Celebrations Nook
Reported by Joanne
Hello! I'm Joanne, and I'm in charge of the Celebrations and Comfort Nook (called the C & C for short). Members of the Literary Garden contribute to this Nook by submitting poems celebrating happy events, such as birthdays, weddings, engagements, births and so on. Poems and/or short stories are also submitted for special comfort and support in the case of deaths of loved ones, favorite pets, and also depression, family difficulties, sudden changes and the like. These submissions are then sent to the Celebrators who include them in their specific pages according to theme needed. In the Northern Hemisphere April is especially remembered as the month of awakening; all around us Mother Earth has met with the warming Sroing Sun, giving birth to an explosion of color and sound after a cold and lifeless Winter. For our Sisters in the Southern Hemisphere, golden Autumn has arrived, bringing days of reflection and fresh soothing coolness after a harsh dry Summer.
Reviews & Expressions Nooks
Reported by Silveressence
Hello Ladies!!
Another month gone by and here we are again! I hope you all have a wonderful Easter - Remember April Showers bring May flowers - that means spring is right around the corner. I'd love to have a good Spring start to the Expressions and Review Nooks - we only had 1 expression sent in this month. I know you ladies have more to review and "express" - and we want to hear it!! I also wanted to let you know that while I may "theme" the expressions - you do not have to submit something related to the "theme" You may submit whatever you wish. I hope to hear more from you all this month. May your days be full of sunshine and love.

Whimsical Nook
Reported by Sarah aka SeededSpirit
The Whimsical nook is for a fun, light-hearted writing. If it can be read to a bunch of very young kids and bring
a smile to their face, then this is the place for it. I would like to thank everyone who submitted this month. I know all of our Sisters here appreciate your thoughts on their pages.
Until next month, Happy Reading,
Christina
