Electric Rainbows
A passionate encounter
across the violet sky
Eruptions of a vast expanse
a picture of delight
Painted on the canvas
hues within an arc
Reaching from the heavens
in a covenant of love
Then in sheer abandonment
a powerful array
So vibrant in its beauty
so vast in its display -
Strikes beyond the myriad
and illuminates the sky
A surge of light surpassing
such electrical delight
And yet a touch of Heaven
is written by the hand
That bore the very forces
of such a great command
For He who has dominion
over the earth and all above
Paints us electric rainbows
and reminds us of His love.

Memories of Storms
A winter storm brought to mind
Memories of when the children were small.
How at night I would tuck them in
And we would listen to the rain fall.
I watched the lightening and I listened
To the thunders very loud roar
And suddenly they were little again
All safe within my door.
I would often wake them
And take them from their beds
All snug and warm by firelight glow ~
Tousled little heads.
We would sit wrapped up in blankets
With hot chocolate on our knee,
Safe and warm and cosy ~
Nature’s concert we would see.
We would sit at the window
While the storm clouds entertained
We would watch the lightening
And the patterns where it rained.
Squeals of delight as the thunder clapped
And the lightening lit up the sky
Snug and happy together
For we were safe and dry.
So for us storms mean pleasure
And comfort and being warm
Memories of childhood
And being kept from harm.
They are all grown up now
With lives of their own to live
I know they still enjoy the storms
And the pleasure that they give.

Dear Diary,
I don't care much for rainstorms, especially the lightning, but today I saw a glorious rainbow shining through the dark rainclouds. It was like a message telling me that even in darkness there is hope, a light that shines through all fears.
Your Friend,
Molly

Lightening screams out across the sky,
much like the inner workings of my soul...
Beautiful streaks expressing the heartache,
an oxymoron my heart cannot console...
Rainbows gentle bend of love and light,
express a truth I believe deep inside...
His Love will guide me to persevere,
when in truth I would rather run to hide...
Such an odd mixture of emotions,
seems to flow freely from my Pen...
I don't know wether to cry all night,
or stand strong and tall once again...

Nasty Angel

Two different forces
As powerful as one
Mother Nature's instruments
Neither one is outdone
Each is as beautiful
And magnificent as the other
They are signs of God's handiwork
In this world we uncover.

Dear Diary
It's been a while since I was last here to share my thoughts with you, but today I witnessed something spectacular and I needed somewhere to write it down so that I would always have that wonderful moment available to reflect upon. I even managed to get a picture with that beat up old camera of mine that I told you about years ago, but I'm quite sure this picture would probably win a prize in the photo contest if I was to submit it like my sister does, but I think I'll just keep this one to myself.
Today started off in it's usual way, up early and still feeling tired, but as soon as the aroma of the coffee my husband made re ached my nose it had me perked up in no time at all. He was sitting in the living room, looking as good as he did the day before, watching FOX news and already enjoying the first cup of hot java out of the pot today. It looked dark inside the house and he had the lights on. When I asked him why, he told me to go look outside. I did. Oh my goodness Diary you just cannot even imagine what I saw!
There sitting in front of my eyes, high in the sky, yet touching the ground, were two of God's most spectacular wonders .... a huge lightning bolt coming from out of Heaven and striking the ground on the left and a rainbow on the right with colors so bright that someone up there must have painted them before sending it down for me to see. I have to tell you I jumped big time when that lightning bolt hit the ground, but then when the rainbow appeared it brought a such a sense of peace to me and I knew at that moment I was witnessing something I would probably never see again in my lifetime.
Diary, ya know what I think? I think that someone sent that moment to me to let me know that even during a storm there will come a moment when everything in life will be brought around full circle with the color of life for us to see. Oh yeah, forgot to tell you, the cup of coffee was wonderful, the rest of my day went beautifully and I forgot all about being so tired .... until now. Lindamay

Dear Diary ...
Today is one of those days that will inspire me for days to come.
Regardless of how my day has been or what has transpired I saw something majestic.
It was a field of green and just beyond the trees at the end of the field was a double rainbow.
Oh how my heart glows at the sight of a rainbow, but a double one is like a visual meditation.
I took a couple calming deep breaths of the crisp cleansing air and then a flicker. A lightning
bolt reminded me of its power.
How fortunate I am to live in such a majestic world that can help me to be centered, inspired
and in awed, just by being a part of it.

A Tale of Two Dogs
A homeless dog was walking down the street one day trying desperately to find a morsel of food. He was hungry and tired. As he came out from behind a car, another dog caught his eye. This dog was caged behind silver bars looking at him mournfully. The homelss dog asked why he looked so sad. The caged dog replied because he longed to run free instead of being confined. The homeless dog through to himself, at least I am free and freedom is very important to me. He suddenly didn't see his situation as being the worst ever. The homeless dog told the caged dog that even freedom has its downfall. That he slept outside very night and struggled to find food to eat. The caged dog suddenly perked up feeling thankful that he had a home, food every day, and a warm place to rest his head at night. He suddenly didn't feel so sad. The two remained friends and realized that the grass always looks greener on the other side, but being thankful for what you have is what's most important in life.
