BASIC QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ------------------------------------------- Q1.) Is it ok to politely refuse graphics supplied that are copyrighted giving an explanation as to why they cannot be used and help to find replacements? A1.) Yes, if you cannot find a copyright, artist or have permission to use that particular piece of art - then please politely refuse. There are many, many wonderful artists online that give permission to use their artwork....and I'm sure together you can both find the right image she is looking for. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q2.) Creating for directory structure. Are there any guidelines we should generally follow. Do we avail ourselves to helping with the uploading if needed, assuming we do only create the page and getting it up is their job?? If uploading is an issue I am more than happy to do this too if requested but want to check that I am not overstepping what we do. A2.) We create the template for the customer - as well as uploading...They come to us because they really have no idea what they are doing in regards to graphics, uploading etc.....I always try and recommend a webhost like Geocities as they have a good WYSIWYG system...I think Bravenet also has that kind of set up.....I always let the cutomer know that we only create the graphics for them and set up a "skeleton" page on the webhost.....all they have to do is add their own stuff to it! Is there a time limit we should try to stick to in creating or do we just take as long as is required, knowing that some ppl ask for something then change their mind and the maker has to make changes! LOL A3.) Well there is no real time limit.....we don't want the assignment lasting over a period of a month....make it quite clear that you will do your best for the customer and will only change things on a limited basis.....of course we have to keep the customer always happy, so if she really hates the set you have created and you don't wish to make her another, then please email me right away and I'll take it from there.....but know we have never had one unhappy customer....the biggest problems we have had is a change of a name or the style of a button. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q4.) Crediting page design? is there a standard "wosib pagemaker" credit we use or anything? A4.) There is no real "set" credit design we use for the pages. I always use "Page Created by the WOSIB Page Makers" but of course you are MORE then welcomed to add your name ie: "Page created by ***** for the WOSIB Page Makers" it is up to you....but please credit the page makers in there somewhere and also have the logo linked directly to our site...
